Is it possible to provide a LICENSE in your project, that contains a copyright notice? You might want to consider 2-clause BSD, the same license that nginx uses (http://nginx.org/LICENSE).

We are packaging your module with nginx in debian and we need a licence and a copyright notice for legal issues.
