Screen shut down on HDMI connection

Hi and thanks for maintaining this fork of a very good dock app.
I have a problem with my setup on a desktop computer when I connect the monitor with HDMI.
Namely, after screen turns off, and back on (power management), preview windows are lost, and only the label of the app pops up on mouse over. I, for now, switched to a VGA connection, but the quality of picture is much poorer than the HDMI.

What's your desktop environment or window manager?
When such a problem occurs, switch to another workspace and then switch back. Will the preview come back?

Thanks! I use XFCE with its default windows manager. Now there happens something funny. I connected the HDMI without removing the VGA connection, and now the problem is gone. Let's wait and see if someone else reports the same problem, it might be something connected to the graphics card or its driver.
