Sensors Not Visible in Energy Dashboard in Home Assistant

Problem Description
When configuring the Energy Dashboard in Home Assistant, some important sensors, such as sensor.power_meter_active_power, are not available for selection as inputs for the energy distribution graph.

Cause: These sensors have the device_class: power, but to be recognized by the Energy Dashboard, the device_class must be set to energy.

Solution: Changing the Device Class of Affected Sensors
To make these sensors visible in the Energy Dashboard, you need to manually change their device_class (workaround).
An update would be nice to have all the sensors accessible.
