Roadmap
OmniCore's mission is to simply ease the burden of Type 1 Diabetes.
Thus it has, and will continue to have an ever growing complex implementation.
- Everyone deserves the quality of life that our collective knowledge can offer and improve upon.
- Proprietary information is the enemy of the people.
- Don't be an enemy of the people.
This is a basic outline of the OmniCore roadmap, involving various software and hardware components along the way. Note that as of today (May 27th, 2019) only Milestone #1 is being actually implemented and readied for release. Rest of these projects are subject to preconditions and constraints (time, money, resources) and are therefore only a naive representation of my various ideas.
The first milestone will expose the complete functionality of OmniPy as an android application and provide the same experience as with omnipy, utilizing only the android device and RileyLink.
It will be provided as an android application and needs to be installed on the same android device as Android APS; if looping is desired. Similar to omnipy, a custom version of Android APS will be made available which will include the "OmniCore" pump driver.
This milestone will add several new features to the android application and establish it as a core platform module. It will also aim to extend the platform support to Samsung Tizen and Android Wear.
This milestone will extend OmniCore's capabilities significantly, making it one of a kind. It will also aim to add platform support for Apple iOS.
This is the final milestone for OmniCore, which aims to add support for several online and offline services around diabetes management.
Radio for the people is the general name for several projects which shall be prioritized according to various environment variables, while OmniCore development is progressing.
This project will provide a cost-effective radio hardware and an efficient software solution for Omnipod Eros and will seek to improve radio communications.
OmniCore is built to support OmniPod Dash natively from the ground up. This project involves the deciphering of Omnipod Dash protocol and integration of it into OmniCore software on various platforms; as well as into the radio hardware.
Integration of Dexcom protocol into the newly developed radio hardware for increased CGM coverage and to support new/upcoming features.
A follow-up project for custom radio hardware and wearables, after OmniCore has reached milestone #4.
