To reproduce on Windows 10:

  1. Disconnect from wired and wireless networks.
  2. Launch Webrecorder Player by double-clicking the icon.
  3. Nothing happens, zombie tasks appear in task manager.
  4. Wait...
  5. Connect to wired or wireless network.
  6. Webrecorder Player window appears!

Was able to reproduce this on my home PC, but not on my work laptop VM. Appears to be related to electron/electron#6437

Have a hunch it's due to using localhost instead of 127.0.0.1, will confirm later.

Updating electron solves it, fix in w10-fix branch.
