In #287 I took the action item to file a new issue about having a chair for the interop team, as part of #275.

I would like to propose that we appoint a chair, similar to a web standards working group chair, with the following responsibilities:

  • Organizing our meetings, including call for agenda and posting the agenda ahead of the meeting.
  • Finding a note taker for each meeting, perhaps using a rotation (the chair should not be the note taker)
  • Tracking decisions made and action items assigned in meetings, and following up on action item

It probably makes sense to appoint a chair a year at a time, matching the planning cycle.

Also, the chair is expected to be neutral, not representing their employer in the role as chair.
