Sub-discussion of: Supplemental Guidance Template Discussion
Tangential: Pointers to personas and real user experiences in Discussion 119
Background
WAI initially used these short persona quotes in What's New in WCAG 2.1. They included a mini-persona, for example:
In the context of What's New in WCAG 2.1, the mini-persona was important because the page covered several different disabilities/impairments (low vision, cognitive, physical)
The mini-personas are not included in COGA Supplemental Guidance — as shown in this in-progress COGA prototype, presumably they determined it was not worth the clutter and complexity.
Mini user persona - Pros and Cons???
If often useful for context, then we probably want to include them.
If we include them, we will want to make sure to have diverse visual conditions, age, gender, ethnicity, etc. style guidance). That adds some “overhead”.
Maybe we decide that the min-persona phrases are not important in this context? That the important info is the quotes, and clarification in mini-personas is unnecessary here?
