Split view is really confusing

I was working with the split view of the same file and found out the (VERY) hard way that they aren't two views of the same file - it's more like to totally separate editors. I lost all my work. This is really bad imo - it's not the way most editors work so there should be a flashing warning or something.

Yep, they should be two views of the same up-to-date file. We have an issue open elsewhere to cover this I believe. Prior to that being implemented, I agree there should be a more active warning.
