Subscripts please #395
Comments
Hello @docsteveharris, Thanks for the proposal! Could you give a use case please ? Apart from math formulas, I can't see any other one and for now, this is something that we don't want to support (c.f. #313). |
Hi @robin850 I'm a medic and use subscripts and superscripts in most of my writing (e.g. all chemical forumulae). I would imagine this is true for any form of writing in the sciences, and so it would be an issue for much more than just the math community. Steve |
Well, you're right I should just have used "science" in general. :-) I'm sorry but I will give it a close for the same reasons as #313. I can understand that Markdown has a cool syntax and that sometimes there is just a few features left to have the markup that we really want to write our documents with but there are other tools that provide such abilities like Pandoc or MultiMarkdown. We want to keep Redcarpet as an easy-to-use and fast Markdown parser. |
Thanks for the superscript formats, but any chance of doing the same for subscripts (a la Pandoc, Multimarkdown etc)?
