That was intentional TBH. I open a lot of links in Twitter and similar apps, which opens the link inside the in-app browser, and then I have to do "Open in Browser" to open it in an external browser so that I can take actions (like saving as bookmark, sign in with my already logged in accounts, and similar other actions). This is the reason why I thought of taking the user to their favorite browser.
But this user experience can be improved a lot - by allowing the user to open in-app or externally. This can be an app setting. The original focus was to learn the MAD architecture, but now this can be improved by adding more features like user login, settings, personalization, and even bookmarks.
Just a thought, instead of compulsorily sending the user outside the app, we can load the website inside a webview and show / hide with a toggle
