Project-ring makes atom 1.12.0 unresponsive

Hi,

After latest atom upgrade, I found that Atom is very slow, unresponsive, takes 10 seconds to load a file or simply to click on the tree view.
After some testing, this gets solved when disabling project-ring, so maybe the update made some incompatible changes.
