How to modify shairport-sync.conf

Love the add on, thank you so much. It was the critical missing piece in getting forked-daapd and LedFX running in containers to be able to access the audio hardware properly.

However, I can't seem to find a way to modify what's in shairport-sync.conf inside of Hassio. In the add-on, there's a place for entering configuration. Is this where I'd paste a JSON file? Do I need the full config, or will it merge objects? I'd like to be able to override some things (such as set it to ignore the volume level and output a consistent line-level).
