Call Numbers

How should call numbers be treated in RDA? Are they identifiers? Are they nomens? Which properties should be used, since there are no dedicated properties?

I think call numbers are more holdings information, even though we share them in the bib record. I don't see any need to try and map the to rda since there is no instructions in rda and it's really holding information not bib info.

So it looks like we have a few options: We can treat call numbers as identifiers for manifestations, access points for manifestations, or mark them as "not mapped".

I have a follow-up question, @CatalogerCate : Do we want call numbers in OCLC records to be retained if/when we move from MARC into RDA/RDF? If so, it might be a good idea to include them in the mapping somehow.
