Representing multiple type device in SwzDeviceFeed

Looking for discussion, a question has come up where a device falls into the category of begin two types, for example be both a flashing beacon and location marker.

Can, should - from a single data source - the same device identifier be used for multiple device types in the feed?

My initial thought is no these are two different device types and there should have unique identifiers to ensure deterministic nature of the provider and identifier relates exclusively to a single device, but maybe this is not import and including device type to match the device record is not an issue.
