Entering the "" character to multiply doesn't work when entering "" via the number row (Shift+8). However, it does work when entering it with the Numpad.

All other characters (+, -, /) work without problem.

Tested with version 1.2.9 from the Snap Store.

Tested on: Ubuntu & Fedora, GNOME & KDE, Wayland & Xorg.
