Performance tanks when rebasing from nvidia-open to deck-nvidia

Describe the bug

Spent the last couple of weeks on nvidia-open and had a great experience playing through RDR 1, 20 hours of RDR 2, a bit of Forza Horizon 5 and the recent Indiana Jones release.
The games perform about as I would expect for my system. I usually stream them via Sunshine/Moonlight at 1080p60.

After rebasing to deck-nvidia, the same games drop to about half the performance, struggling to keep above 30 fps.

What did you expect to happen?

Game performance should be the same or about equal.

Hardware

AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D (6) @ 4.76 GHz (iGPU disabled in bios)
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
16 GB Ram

Extra information or context

Usage in nvtop looks about the same between the two bazzite images, the games just perform worse on deck-nvidia.

No performance issues in Steam Big Picture mode either.

I've seen positive reports from other people with similiar hardware and already double-checked the hardware acceleration settings in Steam (they're turned on).

@jazzsnobeatcake are you having performance issues with deck-nvidia on game mode as well?
I am having a diff issue with deck-nvidia where perf tanks specifically in game mode.

It's bad in both game mode and the KDE session on nvidia-deck and completely fine on nvidia-open in desktop mode.
