respect zsh's HISTORY_IGNORE

Hi,
I aliased e to exit because I use it a lot to exit ranger's shell, and I also set zsh to ignore it and not save it to history with HISTORY_IGNORE="(ls|cd|pwd|exit|e|q|qt|r)", but zsh-directory-history is saving it to history and showing it to me when cycling through directory history with arrow keys.
