v.10 click doesn't trigger focus in IE8

For #335 In IE8, clicking on a typeahead input does not cause a focus event (css and cursor focus properties are not invoked). However a tab key press does focus properly. Only if there is text present does clicking on that text cause a focus event.

Have not tried in IE9+. Can be replicated in test playground.
