Non-Commercial Academic License (NCAL)

Version 1.0

1. Preamble

This license governs the use, reproduction, and distribution of the software. It permits free use for academic, non-profit, and research purposes while prohibiting commercial exploitation, closed-source derivations, and misuse of associated intellectual property such as trademarks and patents.

2. Definitions

  • Software: The source code, documentation, binaries, and any related material distributed under this license.
  • Non-Commercial Use: Any usage that is not intended for or directed toward commercial advantage or monetary compensation.
  • Academic Use: Usage strictly for educational, research, or scholarly purposes in accredited institutions or academic contexts.
  • Licensor: The original copyright holder(s) of the Software.
  • Licensee: Any individual or organization using the Software under the terms of this license.

3. Permitted Uses

The Licensee is granted a limited, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
