gulp-imagemin started failing

So this is problematic: 912f6be

gulp-imagemin started failing with an imagemin error stating something like "unexpected EOF" -- turns out the input files that gulp was streaming to imagemin were empty, and that's ... odd .. updating my archaic versions of dependencies didn't help either. So I just pulled it out of the build process, but that's no bueno...
