Currently we use GeoLite Country database from MaxMind, they also have a IPv6 version here: http://geolite.maxmind.com/download/geoip/database/GeoIPv6.dat.gz, we may consider to support for country resolving.

PS

  1. According to their license, we may need to declare that the database is from MaxMind when downloading the database, not sure if I missed anything but I didn't see we mention that anywhere.

  2. Now there is GeoLite v2 there, seems to have no separated version for IPv4/v6, maybe we can also consider to migrate to GeoLite v2

i was expecting to have a more accurate ip2geo db/service, free of course
there is a little feature in utorrent, called uMap(?), displaying the location of every peer on a world map.
it's kind of interesting, but not that useful
