This would be really helpful. I don't want my Gradle projects to be internet dependent, which slows them down and doesn't work in offline mode. However I'm not sure how to add the custom ivy layout to Artifactory so that I can reference the dependency directly and have it proxy to your repository. I'd hate to have to upload an ad hoc version, as then I can't use the gradle-versions-plugin to discover updates.

If you don't want to commit to the "official" maven repository, you could create a Bintray account and host it there.

I will look at getting the artifact in the Bintray (JCenter) repo.

I looked at Bintray. The problem with Bintray was that it didn't support snapshot versions.

Update on this: Bintray has shutdown the JCenter repositories, so maven central is now the only officially supported option. It is supposed to be less painful to get setup than it used to be.
