Ok, it's not quite the same thing, but I'm working on a dashboard of sorts and in e041a72 and 0d527fa I added this endpoint:

Obviously it's user-hostile right now, but I figured I might as well show some progress on this front :)

By the way, though, I just want to clarify something... I think that the screenshot you showed should actually show the number of results for the current filter criteria, rather than specifically for a tag. That is, if your filter criteria is #exploring, then yeah, it'll show the number of resources tagged with that strand--but if the filter criteria is #exploring scratch, then it will show a lower number, e.g. the number of resources tagged with Exploring and that have "scratch" in the title and/or description. Does that make sense?
