I don't get syntax highlighting (using the Quiet Night theme), nor auto-complete.
I've placed the sugar at ~/Library/Application Support/Espresso/Sugars/expressionengine2.sugar
Downloaded/synced the sugar with GitHub's GUI app for OSX.

Tab-autocomplete or complete-as-you-type? Complete as you type should trigger once you type {exp:

Just pushed an update that should fix tab-autocomplete for snippets, which were broken by a change to the built-in html/xml sugar that macrabbit made in 2.0a5. As there's currently no documentation on the changes in 2.0 patching sugars to keep up is a bit hit and miss ;)

To check if the fix worked for you, pull an update, restart espresso and then check your actions menu while in a document whose language is set to expressionengine2, it ought to look something like this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/164468/espresso.png

Less sure about the syntax highlighting as can't replicate, assuming you're already using the kaboom branch of the repo as per the readme? Master branch is targeted at Espresso 1.x right now...

Tab-autocomplete works (I hadn't even tried that till now). But complete-as-you-type doesn't trigger.

I did pull your new update, but am not getting the Conditionals from your screenshot.

And yes, I'm using the Kaboom branch.

Finally, and most importantly, please don't loose any sleep over this. I only came across this because I'm taking my first baby-steps into EE. I should focus on that, and not trying to get plugins working with beta software.
