Deep inspect on plugin on is off even though it says it's on

We seem to have caused a regression with Deep inspect:

To reproduce:

• Activate deep inspect
• Restart the plugin
• Select a layer
• Go to Inspect
• Notice how even though it says Deep inspect is on, it only shows values of that current layer, not of children.
• Turn Deep inspect off and on again
• Notice that it now works

Expected would be that the plugin respects the users choice on plugin load.

Let's fix this one on main.
