idea: cross-marketing with event-bridge #196
Comments
There's been some loose talk about writing down a spec for the pattern language so that if there are implementations in other language they have something to conform to. I don't think there's much in the way of politics. Obviously Quamina is quite a bit behind Ruler at the moment in terms of features. |
And BTW if Quamina doesn't have a point to Event Ruler, that's a bug, it should. |
EventBridge is mentioned (with links to the AWS docs, not event ruler) in https://github.com/timbray/quamina/blob/main/PATTERNS.md, but the only references I can find in the source repository to event-ruler are in comments in a couple of test cases. Though likely at the very least this issue will eventually get indexed in google... |
Hey @timbray -- I came across this project and did a double-take. I'm building a project in java (like going back in time) to take advantage of event-ruler, though I'm much prefer golang/python to java for this use case. In fact I was considering offering to do a port of event-ruler in golang, but it looks like you've already made a great start on in...
It would be really useful if the event-ruler docs had a cross-reference for "other language ports" (and vice versa) in their README if there aren't political entanglements that would preclude such a reference. Is there any thinking/discussion active about providing that information explicitly?
