Unable to load assets in gh-pages branch

Hello, I'm trying to make my first open source contribution but I ran into a problem. I cloned both of the available branches, but when I run the index.html file locally, none of the images or the CSS seems to load. I wanted to work on the issue of adding a "dark mode" , but I can't do that if the CSS file isn't working. Am I doing something wrong?
