I recommend to separate the following two paragraphs:

when other researchers start to rely on it. At the other end of the scale, research software can sometimes underpin key
processes that deal with critical questions such as weather forecasting or medical diagnosis.

So we now have a file from F1000. I can open it with the MS365 word version, but not with loffice.
