0.1.1: 64 lanes

A minor update that improves interoperability with other rhythm games.

64 lanes

The number of available lanes is increased from 12 to 64. This means it's now necessary to scroll vertically in the pattern editor - do so with Shift+Scroll wheel. You can also click and drag the middle mouse button, this works in both dimensions.

Playing audio

How the game and editor plays audio is revamped.

Before: each lane is tied to an AudioSource, which plays all keysounds on that lane. This means if a note plays its keysound while another note on the same lane is playing, it will cut off the earlier note.

After: a total of 64 AudioSources are available, and are not tied to lanes. When the game needs to play a keysound, it will look for any available AudioSource. If none is available, it will choose the AudioSource with the least remaining time left and cut it off. This means notes will not cut off each other unless there are 65 or more keysounds playing simultaneously.

Other improvements

You can now press Ctrl+D to deselect all notes in the editor. (never mind, somehow this feature didn't make it into this release)

Known issues

Same as 0.1.

Which file to download

Starting this release, TECHMANIA and its included tracks will be released separately.

If you have 0.1, you do not need to download Tracks.zip, as its contents are unchanged from 0.1.

If you do not have 0.1, download both zips and extract them to the same folder.

  • The editor hangs for a few seconds when opening/closing large patterns, and also when undoing/redoing while editing them.
