Hi @called2voyage I was unable to reproduce this in my Brave browser [Version 1.45.113 Chromium: 107.0.5304.62 (Official Build) (64-bit)]. I'll keep trying. |
Yes, I'll try to get you something later today. |
@Xaviju Nothing shows up in the developer tools. |
Since I am not able to reproduce it, I'll leave this issue open to get more feedback or new ways to reproduce it. Thanks for the test. |
My Brave automatically updated to Version 1.45.116 Chromium: 107.0.5304.91 (Official Build) (64-bit), and so far I haven't noticed this error. I'm gonna give it a day, just to be sure. If the error still hasn't popped up by tomorrow, I'll let you know. |
Great news @called2voyage 🥳 |
It happened again, but it only happened in the tab open in my main window, not in the private window, so I think you're probably right about the third-party unexpected effects. |
@called2voyage - were you signed in in the private window? This is reproducible for me when signed in in incognito. |
@tril0byte Yes, I was signed in in the private browsing window. Though to be clear, I had the problem in a regular window, and the private window did not have the problem in my case. |
my logs indicate unable to connect a websocket to api.taiga.io but it keeps retrying dozens of times. I'm not sure what the websocket does since taiga works, but I presume it freezes the tab after enough failures to connect. Unless this is a red herring, then let me know what else to look at. Thanks. |
@called2voyage Can you re-open this issue since it's basically the same one I have? I can't do it without making a brand new one. It happens every day for me with every Taiga tab so I have to re-open them all. It's just not conducive to long-term working on a project. I will start looking for another taskboard if I can't get this fixed. I suspect no one has seen my Javascript errors I posted (link above) because I'm commenting on this closed issue. Thank you! |
@tril0byte I didn't close it, so @Xaviju would have to reopen it. I would definitely support reopening it since I continue to have this problem in the main browser. |
weird, he asked you to re-open it if it recurs. Anyways.. try hitting F12 and going to console before you leave the tab open for a while, see if you get the same errors about websockets as I do. |
Hi @tril0byte the |
@called2voyage You are still having the same issue in a private window? If it's not happening in a private window, it's hard to reproduce and fix because it can be caused by literally any plugin out there. |
Using tree.taiga.io. Sounds like I'm the only one with this issue so unless any ideas to test I'll use Firefox for Taiga. Unless called2voyage sees the same websocket errors I will assume something in my odd environment is the culprit. |
I see @tril0byte lets see if @called2voyage is having the same issue. |
@Xaviju see above in answer to your q Ungoogled chromium may share some code with Brave? The idea is to block all communication with Google, but I dont think api.taiga.io should be blocked. If the websocket errors are unrelated, I seem to need to debug a frozen tab while it's running, which I have no idea how to do. |
yeah, sorry, I responded before I re-read the whole thread. |
@Xaviju I was finally able to reproduce this in private browsing this morning. Console is still empty though. |
@Xaviju I finally got the error log for you:
|
Ok so, based on your feedback, it looks like an error caused by taiga-events when a tab is open for a long time. |
Sometimes when I have Taiga open in my browser [Brave 1.44.108 Chromium: 106.0.5249.103 (Official Build) (64-bit) running on Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS (Focal Fossa)] the whole page goes blank, and when I refresh it never reloads. I have to completely close the tab and open a new tab and navigate back to tree.taiga.io.
How can we reproduce the behavior
Open taiga in the browser, navigate to the profile page (tree.taiga.io/profile), and then leave it open for a while. I change tabs frequently, so you may have to do that and come back to reproduce.
Workarounds
Yes, I can still use Taiga. My workaround is to close the tab and open a new tab and navigate back to root (tree.taiga.io).
Taiga environment
Taiga.io
