The current version of the synfig svg2sif docs lists nikitakit/svg2sif as the source for the svg2sif inkscape extension. However, as discussed in this issue, @nikitakit isn't maintaining svg2sif there - it's being maintained over at inkscape/extensions. That source should probably be listed as the actual upstream to alleviate confusion.

Hi! We are migrating our old docs to Sphinx-based (in this repository). It would be nice if you can help by copying SVG2sif page from old wiki here - https://github.com/synfig/synfig-docs/blob/master/source/artwork_import/svg.rst.
This also a good opportunity to update links. ^__^

Hi @morevnaproject, you sure this would be the best place for this documentation? The svg2sif stuff seems to be less about importing an SVG (which is something synfig should be able to do via the import menu), and more about exporting an SVG to a SIF file in Inkscape. I'm sure we could present the user with this as an option, but it feels like a weird place for this whole document to live.

I have forked this project over at MyriaCore/import-svg, but I haven't done much yet with it - only copied the wikimedia source over.

Apologies for delayed reply.
I understand your concerns. Still I think it is nice to mention the existence of "svg2sif" as an option on "Importing SVG" page. ^__^

Can you please adapt its formatting according to Sphinx RST syntax? - https://thomas-cokelaer.info/tutorials/sphinx/rest_syntax.html

Sure! I was just kinda lazy lol. I'll PR when I'm done.

Just a quick update, I just translated the links, code blocks, etc. I still don't know how to translate some of the wikimedia things (like internal links, {{c|<File>| <Save As>}} stuff, etc). I'll prob get to that at some point.

See Myriacore/import-svg.

{{c|<File>| <Save As>}} is a custom template, you can write it as simple "File" -> "Save As" string

Alright. Not sure if I'll have enough time in the week to really sit down with this, but I'll fix that, and I'll look through the internal links to see if I can change some things.
