A main issue with communication via a chatroom is the lack of centralized info for common problems, questions, etc. Many of these are found and shared by others in the community upon request of another. Users do not have a central place they can go to find answers to everything they need. This includes:
When users download/save useful links to information, they usually create local copies and whatever mechanism they save info through, does not (generally) allow sourcing the original link, creator, post, etc. This leads to a lot of rehosted content with the common tag of "I don't remember who/when/where this was from, but here it is".
Describe the solution you'd like
Create a single page for listing and categorizing all of the content and linking to the original, as original as can be found, or hosting, if not able to find original source.
Describe alternatives you've considered

I have an idea - it would be nice to add also links to mirrors (if one comes across one). Some sources/hostings may expire thus making links dead. But don't misunderstand me, by no means I think about searching for mirrors! I just think that many of above links may be found for example on BGG (now or soon), too ;)
Exactly, I agree with you. I think having a fail-resistent location for the files will be really helpful for ensuring everything is still available to use as long as possible.
