Ability to add #region tags (section headers) to Minimap via comments in code

Problem description

One feature I have seen in other editors that I have found to be incredibly useful in navigating large codebases is the ability to add a comment with a keyword, which in turn displays the text of that comment as a header in the Minimap. Better illustrated with a picture than I can articulate so:

Preferred solution

Ideally it would be great if that was included as a feature

Alternatives

But even just exposing the API necessary to achieve this would be much appreciated!
