When minimised, CTRL+C causes file to scroll up to somewhere in the middle (feature I don't know of, or bug?) #6569

Description of the bug

I can't figure out what is going on. Everytime I miminise, press CTRL+C anywhere else, then restore Sublime, the file scrolls up to somewhere in the middle. At first, I noticed there was a red arrow there. I read it was some diff marker. I reverted, saved, but still, same result. I closed and reopened the file and app, same result. I even created a new file, pasted the text, deleted old file, STILL THE SAME. And it does not happen on any other files, only on this specific one. No difference between this and any other file, they are all just text files.

It doesn't happen if I don't minimise Sublime. If it's in the background, I can press CTRL+C and nothing will happen when I get back to Sublime. But if I press CTRL+C while Sublime is minimised, then in this specific file, the scrolling happens.

Any ideas what it is? File has personal info so can't really share it.

And this is only happening on the latest version which I updated to a couple of days ago. I do not recall this ever happening before.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Minimise
  2. CTRL+C
  3. Maximise

Expected behavior

It should not scroll up, it should be where the cursor/current line is.

Actual behavior

It scrolls up to the middle of the file.

I've tried various things and so far, I only found one line which, if I paste into a new file, will exhibit the same behaviour. If I REWRITE that line myself, the behaviour doesn't happen. It's so bizarre, I don't get it. Even if I copy that line, paste it into notepad, then copy and paste it from notepad into a new sublime file, it'll still have this bug. It's not some line of code, it's just a line of text. So I have no idea how to interpret this.

Does it happen in safe mode?

Does it happen in safe mode?

I haven't customised it, so does it still need safe mode?

And I just noticed all old files have the same issue. I'm not sure why I didn't see it happen before, perhaps I was forgetting to minimise them and was not realising I was just changing focus instead. But now that I try it, it happens with every file, except the brand new one, into which I pasted the text that was ok, and rewrote the text that was causing this issue. i.e. the new file I made last time, there was one line that if I copy-pasted, it would cause the bug, but if I rewrote it manually, then it's fine.

I just rolled back to build 4186 - same issue, in fact, worse because it scrolls up everytime I maximise from minimise, don't even have to press CTRL+C anymore.

I then rolled back to build 4180 - problem is gone, so it's clearly something that changed in the subsequent builds that's causing this.
