I have multiple Stripe Terminals and multiple iPads for my point of sale operation. Every day I connect each iPad to a Stripe Terminal. It isn't very clear which device I just connected to? Is there an easy way that I could 'ping' the Stripe Terminal and it would beep and boop to let me know which device I'm connected to?

what reader type are you connecting to? the Bluetooth readers should all play a sound and flash some LEDs when they connect over Bluetooth. For internet readers, Wise POS E and P400, we don't have an option here for these. Depending how important this is, a clunky work around could be to use setReaderDisplay with some fake cart data and then quickly clearReaderDisplay to cause it to display something on the screen to help identify it.

The M2. It beeps once when you connect to it and the lights flash for a half second, but it would be really really nice if you could ping it and make it beep/display lights. When you have multiple readers and you're outside in the sunlight it's very difficult to see the green lights and tell what device you are connected to.

got it, thanks for the extra details. Tagged as a feature request as we don't have a way to do this.

I'd love to +1 this feature request. We have customers who might have a half a dozen different readers in their space and aren't necessarily the best at keeping track which reader is connected to which iOS device... Being able to ping the connected reader from the iOS device would be helpful to identify which is which.

M2 and WisePad 3 are the main devices we encourage.
