st support broken with latest git

For two reasons:

1. defaultrcs is non-optional.
2. static is no longer valid (since the definitions are now in a different file).

That version (to the best of my knowledge) isn't a full release yet, but it makes sense to prepare ahead of time. (patch should be simple, so if I have some time I'll make a PR referencing this this week).
