Release Notes

Caution

This note is in-progress as we decide how to deal with this deprecation.

Legacy S3 support is being removed in a future version of Trino.

For now, we will enable Legacy S3 support via fs.hadoop.enabled=true.
We have decided to use the default for the version (which is to support the native S3 implementation).

Considerations:

  • SSL is always enabled and cannot be disabled.
  • Client-side encryption is not supported. Server-side encryption (SSE) is the recommended alternative.
  • Multipart (non-streaming) writes and upload are not supported.

End users might have some work to do before upgrading.
