Hello there,

More than an issue, I want to ask for a feature.
Can you add the option to set the RPM Fan Speed to its maximum? I mean, something to controll the fan speed in order to lower the CPU Heat. Because in my case with 2 external Displays + Internal Display, it shows more than 70ºC and it's really disgusting for me. So I want to swap from Noisy + Low heat and Quiet + I dont care the heat.

Is it possible to do?

Thanks and Kind regards.

Adding on to the other question, I would offer to collaborate on the repo if you could explain me the quiet.ini. I don't understand what would the values be for a loud fan profile for example. Currently in PopOS the fans stay the same no matter the load or the CPU temperature. This could be turned into a script that automatically changes the profile depending on the temperature of the CPU.

fancontrol.zip
I just made it. The only thing I did was copy the quiet.ini and increase in hexadecimal the values on the fanspeed. Then, I made a script that runs a command with lm-sensors to get the CPU temperature and depending on it, it switches modes. I named the three modes: quiet, normal and loud. The thing is that I haven't been able to run in on startup in PopOs 20.04, but it works though.

Thanks, I actually dont use the MSI prestige 15 anymore, I have an MSI GE 75 with Pop OS instead :) However, I will try out this fan control script and report as well!

Just added your changes to the repo, will test them more later today. Thanks!
