What steps will reproduce the problem?

Open spyder notebook, run notebook, launch console linked to notebook, remove variables, run notebook again.

Hey @bakj1979, thanks for reporting. I have a quick question for you: do you also get the same error when opening multiple consoles in Spyder?

You can do that by going to the menu entry Consoles > New console (default settings).
