Cursor doesn't smear to correct command location

When having smear_to_cmd = true the cursor seems to always smear to the bottom left corner of the window even though the command input may not be in that location. In my specific case I have noice.nvim (as part of LazyVim) rendering the Cmdline as an overlay. See this video for a demo.
