ZEN26 Z-Wave Plus S2 ON/OFF Switch V2

This describes the Z-Wave device ZEN26, manufactured by Zooz with the thing type UID of zooz_zen26v2_02_000. This version of the device is limited to firmware versions above 2.0

The device is in the category of Wall Switch, defining Any device attached to the wall that controls a binary status of something, for ex. a light switch.

The ZEN26 supports routing. This allows the device to communicate using other routing enabled devices as intermediate routers. This device is also able to participate in the routing of data between other devices in the mesh network.

Inclusion Information

TAP Upper paddle 3-5 TIMES QUICKLY

The LED indicator will blink to signal communication and remain on for 2 seconds to confirm inclusion

Exclusion Information

Tap the lower paddle on the switch 3 times quickly

General Usage Information

To complete factory reset process manually, tap-tap-tap’n’hold the upper paddle for at least 10 seconds. The LED indicator will flash to confirm successful reset. NOTE: All previously recorded activity and custom settings will be erased from the device’s memory.

**Upper Paddle: **

1 x tap: load on; Scene 1, attribute 00 (button 1)

2 x tap: Scene 1, attribute 03 (button 3)

3 x tap: enter inclusion (pairing) mode; Scene 1, attribute 04 (button 5)

4 x tap: Scene 1, attribute 05 (button 7)

6 x tap: change LED indicator mode (see parameter 2)

10 x tap: change physical / Z-Wave control mode (see parameter 11)

tap-tap-tap-and-hold: factory reset

**Lower Paddle: **

1 x tap: load off; Scene 2, attribute 00 (button 2)

2 x tap: Scene 2, attribute 03 (button 4)

3 x tap: enter exclusion (unpairing) mode; Scene 2, attribute 04 (button 6)

4 x tap: Scene 2, attribute 05 (button 8)

All ZEN26 switches can be updated via OTA firmware updates, here is how to do that. You can request a firmware update file here, please include your order number for verification!

Channels

The following table summarises the channels available for the ZEN26 -:

Switch

Switch the power on and off.

The switch_binary channel is of type switch_binary and supports the Switch item and is in the Switch category.

Scene Number

Triggers when a scene button is pressed.

The scene_number channel is of type scene_number and supports the Number item. This channel provides the scene, and the event as a decimal value in the form <scene>.<event>. The scene number is set by the device, and the event is as follows -:

Parameter 1: Paddle control

Choose paddle functionality (invert) Choose if you want the upper paddle to turn the light ON or turn the light OFF when tapped The following option values may be configured -:

The manufacturer defined default value is 0 (Top ON, bottom OFF).

This parameter has the configuration ID config_1_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 2: LED indicator control

Change behavior of the LED indicator Choose if you want the LED indicator to turn on when the switch (light) is ON or OFF, or if you want it to remain ON or OIFF at all times. 6 x TAP PADDLE to manually change the LED indicator mode. The following option values may be configured -:

1 LED ON when switch ON
2 LED OFF
3 LED ON

The manufacturer defined default value is 0 (LED ON when switch OFF).

This parameter has the configuration ID config_2_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 3: Auto turn-OFF timer

Enable/disable turn-OFF timer Use this parameter to enable or disable the auto turn-OFF timer function The following option values may be configured -:

0 Disable
1 Enable

The manufacturer defined default value is 0 (Disable).

This parameter has the configuration ID config_3_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 4: Auto turn-OFF timer length

Length of time before switch turns OFF Use this parameter to set the time after which you want the switch to automatically turn OFF once it has been turned ON. The number entered as value corresponds to the number of minutes. Values in the range 0 to 65535 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 60.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_4_4 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 5: Auto turn-ON timer

Enable/disable turn-ON timer Use this parameter to enable or disable the auto turn-ON timer function The following option values may be configured -:

0 Disable
1 Enable

The manufacturer defined default value is 0 (Disable).

This parameter has the configuration ID config_5_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 6: Auto turn-ON timer length

Length of time before switch turns ON Use this parameter to set the time after which you want the switch to automatically turn ON once it has been turned OFF. The number entered as value corresponds to the number of minutes. Values in the range 0 to 65535 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 60.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_6_4 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 7: Association reports

Association reports Choose which physical and Z-Wave triggers should prompt the switch to send a status change report to associated devices.

**Values: **

0 – none

1 – physical tap on ZEN26 only

2 – physical tap on connected 3-way switch only

3 – physical tap on ZEN26 or connected 3-way switch

4 – Z-Wave command from hub

5 – physical tap on ZEN26 or Z-Wave command from hub

6 – physical tap on connected 3-way switch or Z-Wave command from hub

7 – physical tap on ZEN26 / connected 3-way switch or Z-Wave command from hub

8 – timer only; 9 – physical tap on ZEN26 or timer

10 – physical tap on connected 3-way switch or timer

11 – physical tap on ZEN26 / connected 3-way switch or timer

12 – Z-Wave command from hub or timer

13 – physical tap on ZEN26, Z-Wave command from hub, or timer

14 – physical tap on ZEN26 / connected 3-way switch, Z-Wave command from hub, or timer

15 – all of the above (default) The following option values may be configured -:

This parameter has the configuration ID config_7_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 8: ON/OFF status after power failure

Set the ON/OFF status for the switch after power failure

The following option values may be configured -:

1 On
2 Restore last state

The manufacturer defined default value is 2 (Restore last state).

This parameter has the configuration ID config_8_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 10: Enable/disable scene control

Enable/disable scene control Enable or disable scene control functionality for quick double tap triggers The following option values may be configured -:

0 Scene control disabled
1 Scene control enabled

The manufacturer defined default value is 0 (Scene control disabled).

This parameter has the configuration ID config_10_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 11: Enable/disable paddle control

Enable or disable local ON/OFF control Enable or disabvle local ON/OFF control. If enabled, you will only be able to control the connected light via Z-Wave. Scenes and other functionality will still be available through paddles. The following option values may be configured -:

1 Local control enabled

The manufacturer defined default value is 1 (Local control enabled).

This parameter has the configuration ID config_11_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Association Groups

Association groups allow the device to send unsolicited reports to the controller, or other devices in the network. Using association groups can allow you to eliminate polling, providing instant feedback of a device state change without unnecessary network traffic.

The ZEN26 supports 2 association groups.

Group 1: Lifeline

The Lifeline association group reports device status to a hub and is not designed to control other devices directly. When using the Lineline group with a hub, in most cases, only the lifeline group will need to be configured and normally the hub will perform this automatically during the device initialisation. This device will send BINARY SWITCH REPORT to Group 1 and 2 when operated manually

Association group 1 supports 1 node.

Group 2: Group 2

This device will send BINARY SWITCH REPORT to Group 1 and 2 when operated manually

Association group 2 supports 5 nodes.
