Hi, I really appreciate your work , is a good application
but the process to install the application is not easy

could you make a flatpak for onedrive?
in this way, users can install the application in any linux distribution

please.
thank you.

Hi @chemel9, please correct me if I'm wrong (with an example) but I think flatpak is generally used for GUI applications. There are packages available for Fedora, packaging for Ubuntu and others shouldn't be too difficult if somebody was interested in doing so.

yes, flatpak is generally used for GUI

so ,,i think is better if you create a deb package for onedrive
and in the future, when onedrive have a GUI, to carry the application to Flatpak package

Developing a GUI is not a stated objective of this project. Debian or Ubuntu packagers are very welcome to package this project if it is of interest to their users. This project is available in Fedora in exactly this way, and externally to this project itself.

I think you should close this issue @chemel9 and contact your distribution's packagers or become a packager yourself.

@skilion @chemel9 As of 17.10 Ubuntu has a package for this https://packages.ubuntu.com/artful/onedrive and Debian has it in Buster and Sid https://packages.debian.org/buster/onedrive . Of course, I only find these once I've written my own packaging stuff. Oh well.

+1 for this, particularly with the Steam Deck having an immutable image. The value proposition for flatpak isn't GUI vs console application distribution. The value proposition is that the package's dependencies are completely isolated from the rest of the system and other installed flatpaks. This greatly increases portability and reduces the burden on the end user to maintain a mix of packages that play well together.

+1
This would be so amazing for people who use Steam Deck

FYI - This repo is not maintained, does not receive any support (reference). This code base also contains issues / defects that put you at risk of data loss if you use it and despite a new version release in Oct 2020, these functional defects remain.

This repo has zero references to it being unmaintained, and has commits since 10 months ago yet the comment linked is 2 years old. It would be courteous to add these details to the README (but thank you none the less for pointing it out!)
