Signal-IRC gateway/bridge

There are IRC gateways/bridges for most communication platforms. However, I could not find a single one, or even better - an officially supported bridge. Is this even possible with Signal?

I would also be interested in this, even though I don't have much hope. Is there at least a API or SDK of some kind that could be used to build something like this?

EDIT: There is a "workaround" for this: You can bridge Signal to Matrix and then use the existing Matrix to IRC bridge. It should, in theory, work. I have not tried it myself.

There is a libpurple plugin that can be connected through the BitlBee gateway to IRC clients.
