Research wallet support extension

Goal

Understand state of the art wallet support

Context

For now our UI only supports Metamask. While being the most used wallet provider we want to extend wallet support.
This issue is meant to do a quick research on state of the art wallet support by looking at large players in the market.
This research should be used as a benchmark to define next steps for our wallet support extension approach.

Tasks

• Research other applications in web3 space and check its wallet support
• Define next steps

A quick research on various other well known applications revealed the following with regard to supported wallets (researched applications inlcude: Uniswap, Opensea, Curve)

• Metamask still most used and suggest wallet
• WalletConnect provided as leading wallet aggregator
• Coinbase wallet as a third option
• Some (but not all) offer direct support for hardware wallets

Given the above, it is fair to argue that our previous goal to add WalletConnect still holds.

Additional note: Coinbase wallet seems to gain traction. We might put support for this one to our backlog
