Hi!
my Alexa doesn't find the MagicMirror, after telling her to search for new devices.
What can i do? Is the issue, that i also installed fauxmojs itself?
So what i did:

  1. installed the module
  2. configured the module (copied the MMM-OnScreenMenue example)
  3. told Alexa to look for new devices ("can't see any new smarthome devices")

Then i wondered if i also had to install fauxmojs itself, so i did. But nothing changed, after telling Alexa to search new devices.

need help.
Greetings from Germany!

I imagine we have to enable the Wemo amazon skill, which I'm unable to do.

DISCLAIMER: I am not actively working on this project at the moment since I don't use it on my MagicMirrors. I am currently using NodeRED and the API provided by MMM-Remote-Control to control my mirrors. I'm not going to be able to perform any direct troubleshooting, but I will accept any PRs to correct identified issues.

That being said, looking into this briefly, it looks like fauxmojs has not been updated in quite some time. The two most active forks are by @viktor1984 here and @mcchas here. @victor1984 has a npm package that may be used as an alternate at vilichev-fauxmojs. Neither branch seems to have corrected the issue identified in dsandor/fauxmojs#27 and corrected in the Python version in n8henrie/fauxmo#38.

There are 2 other alternative projects here: https://www.npmjs.com/package/huedo and here: https://github.com/dxprog/mewo (ref #2) which could be used as a replacement for fauxmojs and potentially work with the newest generation of Echo Devices.

If anyone is willing to put in the effort to convert over to one of these modules, I will be happy to accept a PR. Sorry, I can't provide any additional support at this time, real life commitments have priority.

I know it´s been a while since your last comment.
How should I replace the fauxmojs with the huedo?
