Crashing / no main window for Mac App Store reviewers

Expected Behavior

The Mac App Store build (aka mas) should behave the same as the non-Mac App Store build for macOS (aka mac).

Actual Behavior

For the past several versions, Mac App Store reviewers report that the application either crashes on startup or, for builds which don't crash, the app does not create the main window.

• MAS build crashing on launch: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 0x4 electron/osx-sign#223
• App Store build succeeded but no window shows due to "out of memory" electron/electron#20560
