There is a SULI student, @maxcurie1996, that posted the following question on the SULI undergraduate/grad discord server:

Question: Are there any resources for teaching on making Synthetic Diagnostics and info about the coordinate transformation from field-aligned coordinates to cartesian coordinates? I am using GENE by the way.

I know that you worked on synthetic diagnostics for GYRO, and may have suggestions for more reading for @maxcurie1996 . Also you may be aware of efforts on the GENE side and other folks to refer to @maxcurie1996.
