Describe the bug

When the version of the VS Code instance is older than the one required by the language client we will get a log entry:

The language client requires VS Code version ^1.67.0 but received version 1.66.2

Expected behavior

User should be shown a clear pop up

Additional context

The issue was also causing the Java home not to be picked up.
