Multilingal support #930
Comments
Hey, adding multilingual support shouldn't be that hard in case of Scastie as there is no much really content to translate. I don't have time for another few weeks to do this, but let's revisit it soon. |
The hard part to get right is proper alignment and text-box sizes for multi-lingual support. It's not that trivial. |
We can use Transifex (or simullar something) to manage translations (if we use this, we can contribute little by little). And we have scaposer to read from Though if we have alignment/textbox issue, we can fallback only on affected part. Is there anything I can do to help? |
Hey, thanks. This seems like one approach that can be taken. We can start to support only few languages, and hope that text boxes will fit. If you want to help to move this issue forward and you're willing to contribute, you can try implementing this. Sadly I don't work on Scastie full time but rather few hours per month, so I won't be able to approach this any time soon. But I'm available for any help if you decide to give your take on this issue. |

To Reproduce
Only English is available for using Scastie.
Expected behavior
I would like to ask Scastie (website) to provide multilingual support. I am a native Japanese speaker, and I am ready to help with Japanese support.
While I think Scastie is a great platform and an inclusive tool for beginners and advanced users alike, I believe that native language learning is a big part of helping beginners become proficient in Scala.
The inability to learn in their native language causes them to drift to other programming languages.
Several social platforms exist for multilingual support. Could you consider using these?
