Custom Template for Amazon Feed

Ive went through the feed templates that are available on seller central and none of them have all the headings i want to update. Is there a way to make a custom template that i can add the headings i want? If i do a manual upload of my file it works fine but when i use the API to upload it gives me errors so i was thinking there must be a custom template for me to use.
